Dust off your lightsabers, practice your Poké Ball throws, and polish your cosplay armor, because MiniCon is back for its fourth year at Sewell Mill Library & Cultural Center! This free fandom and pop culture convention is open to fans of all ages and interests. If you’re into fantasy, science fiction, anime, manga, comics, gaming, or anything pop culture, MiniCon is the place to be.
Event Highlights
Expect to see a galaxy of Star Wars characters posing together for epic photos, young padawans standing alongside their heroes, and even a Bluey mascot getting some big hugs from adoring fans. With a lineup packed with activities and entertainment, there’s something for everyone at MiniCon 2024.
Cosplay Competition
Got a killer costume? Show it off at the Cosplay Competition, where there are awards for youth, teens, and adults. From superheroes to magical girls, strut your stuff and maybe take home a prize!
Pokemon Trivia
Think you know your Pikachu from your Pichu? Prove it at the Pokemon Trivia contest. Bring your A-game and see if you can outsmart the other trainers in the room. Catch ’em all… if you can remember their names!
Live Performances and Theatre
Enjoy live musical performances and theatre shows throughout the day. Who knows, you might just discover your new favorite band or catch a sneak peek of the next big thing in pop culture!
Themed Storytime and Children’s Costume Parade
For our young guests, there’s a themed storytime complete with a craft activity. Afterward, join the Children’s Costume Parade—an adorable spectacle where every tiny cosplayer gets their moment in the spotlight.
Tabletop RPGs and Retro Gaming
Dive into worlds of imagination with TTRPGs like Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder, led by expert Game Masters. Or, if you’re feeling nostalgic, hit up the retro gaming stations and relive the golden age of video games. Just try not to rage-quit when you lose at Mario Kart.
Free Panels and Workshops
Expand your knowledge with free panels and workshops covering various fandoms and interests. It’s a great opportunity to learn something new and meet others who share your passions. Just don’t be surprised if you end up joining a new fan club.
Board Games and Artist Alley
Test your strategy skills with board games or explore the Artist Alley, featuring over 25 talented Cobb County art vendors. Find unique artwork, comics, and crafts that you won’t see anywhere else. Who knows, you might even find the perfect piece to complete your nerdy home decor.
Food Trucks
Feeling hungry? Grab some delicious eats from local food trucks “C’est Tou Bon 2 Eat” and “Pelican’s Snowballs.” Because nothing says “geek heaven” like great food and cool treats!
