Marietta Donuts – E Piedmont Road

Marietta Donuts opened a new East Cobb location on Friday, June 20, 2025. The new store is another step forward for the popular local brand known for its classic and specialty donuts, hearty breakfast options, and kolaches (a Texas favorite with European roots, see below).

Owner Sokcheat Heng and his girlfriend and business partner, Sophal Chhim, opened the original Marietta Donuts in 2016 next to a Shell station on Johnson Ferry Road in East Cobb. Their second shop debuted on Cobb Parkway in Kennesaw in 2021. The new location brings the business back to East Cobb, this time with a more spacious setup in a growing retail corridor, just down the street from the new East Cobb Walk development.

The menu includes yeast-raised donuts that are light, fluffy, and made fresh daily. Customers will also find a full breakfast lineup that includes croissant sandwiches, bagels, and biscuits filled with combinations of egg, bacon, ham, sausage, and cheese. Coffee, tea, flavored cappuccinos, and ice blends.

European-Texan Kolaches

Maple Bacon Donut, a Cronut (a croissant doughnut hybrid popularized by chef Dominique Ansel at his New York City bakery in 2013), and a Blueberry Old-Fashioned.

An unusual menu item at Marietta Donuts is the kolache, which is a warm, soft yeast dough pastry filled with smoked sausage and cheese. While kolaches originated in Central Europe, they found their way to Texas thanks to Czech immigrants and have since become a breakfast staple across the lone star state. Marietta Donuts is bringing that European-Texan tradition to Georgia, with the plain sausage and cheese kolache among the list of most-ordered items.

Kolaches are also making their way into Georgia via the four Texas-based Buc-ee’s travel centers located in our state.
