Pope High School Band is helping the community clear out unwanted items while keeping recyclables out of landfills. The annual Community Recycling Day returns Saturday, August 9 at the Northeast Cobb Family YMCA, running from 9 am to 2 pm.
Participants can bring items including paint, metal, electronics, appliances, and documents for secure on-site shredding. A $15 donation per car is requested, with additional disposal fees depending on the materials. Payment is accepted by cash, check, or credit card.
If you need help getting your items there, recycling pick-up services are available with advance reservation.

- $2 for each quart, pint, and spray can
- $5 for each 1 gallon can
- $10 for each 2 gallon bucket

Only latex or oil based paints in original labeled containers are accepted. Do NOT mix.
Metal and Electronics
- $20 per flat screen TV
- $40 per non-flat screen TV
- $15 per flat screen monitor, laptop, or tablet
- $30 per large item (e.g. refrigerator, washer, grill, lawnmower, etc.)
- $30 per CRT monitor
- $20 for 1-8 standard sized boxes of paper – 15″x12″x10″
- $40 for 9-16 boxes
- $60 for 17-24 boxes
