Chin Chin is returning to Johnson Ferry Road after a fire destroyed its longtime restaurant near Parkaire Landing in September 2025.
The new Chin Chin Chen Asian Fusion is taking over the former Zaxby’s at 3030 Johnson Ferry Road, near Shallowford Road, the Northeast Cobb YMCA, and Walmart. Renovations are currently underway at the building.
Chin Chin had operated on Johnson Ferry Road for nearly three decades before the fire. Jasmine Chen owned the restaurant for about 15 years, making the new location a return for a familiar East Cobb business.
From Chin Chin to Chin Chin Chen Asian Fusion
The new name adds the Chen family name and expands the restaurant’s identity beyond traditional Chinese American fare.
Chin Chin’s previous menu included General Tso’s chicken, Mongolian beef, lo mein, fried rice, noodle soups, seafood dishes, Beijing duck, Thai curries, Pad Thai, and several chef specialties. The new Asian Fusion name fits a restaurant that had already been cooking dishes from several parts of Asia long before the sign changed.
A menu for the new location has not yet been released.
A New Home After the Fire
The former Chin Chin at 617 Johnson Ferry Road was destroyed by an early morning fire on September 2, 2025. The roof collapsed during the blaze, and the building could not be saved.
The new restaurant is several miles north, but still on the same road that has been its home for decades.
No opening date has been announced.
