Aapka Food Adda Brings Vegetarian Indian Flavors to Johnson Ferry Road
Aapka Food Adda (AFA), opened at 2995 Johnson Ferry Road Suite 410, just two doors down from Fat Lady Baker behind Mzizi coffee and Montana’s. The restaurant’s founders set out to share the spices and time-honored recipes of India with a focus on freshness and authenticity.
Dahi Puri (aka Sev Puri Dahi Puri, or SPDP) is popular Indian street food and chat snack that is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Small crispy puri shells are filled with boiled potato cubes, tamarind chutney, green mint chutney, sweet yogurt (dahi) and topped with thin sev and chopped cilantro leaves.
The menu features a selection of popular chaats like dahi puri, pani puri, and samosa chaat alongside Indo-Chinese twists such as vegetable momos and spring rolls. Entrée favorites include paneer butter masala, chana masala, and a variety of biryanis, along with house-made naan or tandoori rotis. For those looking to sample a bit of everything, the Thali platter offers a rotating curry, rice, puri, raita, and dessert.
The Thail features two pieces of Puri, a Tandoori Roti (cut into quarters), Aloo Bhaji (spiced potatoes), 1 Curry, Rice, Papad (center, folded like a taco), Chutney, Pickle, Raita, 1 Sweet. A thali brings together six distinct flavors: sweet, salty, bitter, sour, astringent and spicy on a single plate to deliver a nutritious meal.
It’s open seven days a week from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm, making it a great option for weekday lunches or weekend dinners. Current dine-in options are limited to just four tables for now, but the restaurant is planning an expansion into the vacant space next door to enlarge the dining area.
